All of the non-Merit Badge programs and activities are open to adult leader participation, though with priority going to any Scouts who want to participate in those activities at the same time.

There are also a number of activities, training, and awards just for adult leaders, including:

Adult leaders have a number of chances to learn and grow as a scout leader. IOLS training, which is required for all Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters, covers the basics of teaching Trail to First Class requirements and the Patrol Method. Aquatics Supervision at the Waterfront can help your Troop prepare for an aquatics outing, whether swimming or boating. For a slightly different experience, check out Nap Safely or the Adult Leader Social, a chance for leaders to get to know each other and swap ideas on recruitment and Troop program.

Both the Adult Leader Egg Drop and Meriwether Links require you to use “found materials” to either protect an egg dropped from the top of the climbing tower or create a golf club to use in a links-style golf competition. There’s also Siegecraft, where you can create small siege engines from office supplies and compete against another team to knock over each other’s army.
