While beautiful, the Pacific Ocean can become dangerous if not careful. Entering the ocean is only allowed in a designated area at designated times (Ocean Swim, the Polar Bear Swim, the Beach Party). Except for those times, no one is allowed to touch the ocean. Never turn your back to the ocean – waves may unexpectedly surge inland and pull people out to see.

In the evenings, scouts must have buddies while on the beach. We recommend taking a group of scouts supervised by adults.

You can have fires on the beach. However, never bury fire with sand. This can insulate coals and cause wildfires or serious burns for future beachgoers.
