During the summer, the Camp Director and staff are extremely busy almost twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Outside of the summer, the Camp Director and staff have full-time jobs and plan camp on a volunteer basis. Please allow some time for a response, and feel free to follow up.

About the Camp Leadership

During the summer, Camp Meriwether’s leadership team consists of the Camp Director, Program Director, Business Manager, Food Service Manager, and Camp Ranger.

Summer Camp Only

David Mudd: David has served as Camp Director since 2023. A CPC-raised Eagle Scout, he started working on camp staff in 2015 as Camp Clark’s Dining Hall Steward, and has worked as Meriwether’s Assistant Camp Director and worked with visiting Troops as a Commissioner.

George Harrison: George worked on Camp Meriwether’s staff for several years in the 1980s and returned to camp as Adult Training Coordinator in 2017 before becoming Business Manager in 2023. Also an Eagle Scout from CPC, he has also served for many years as a Unit Commissioner and on the Spirit Lake District Committee.

Lanie Smith: Also an Eagle Scout from CPC, Lanie started working at Camp Meriwether in 2008 and returned to work in Climbing in 2016. Having served as Program Director since 2022, Lanie cares passionately about providing quality Merit Badge class instruction and is a wealth of knowledge on arcane points of camp history.

Year-Round

Steve Parks: Camp Meriwether’s own social media influencer, Steve has been the Camp Ranger at Camp Meriwether (the 87th in total) since 2009. He is also an Eagle Scout from CPC.

Angi Parks: After serving as Camp Meriwether’s (and occasionally Camp Clark’s) summer camp Food Service Manager for many years, Angi became the first full-time Food Service Manager in 2023.

Evan Strouts: Also an Eagle Scout from CPC (sensing a theme here), Evan Strouts became the second Ranger at Camp Meriwether in 2018.
