In your campsite, expect to find sleeping accommodations, a campfire or two, benches, several shelters with tables, several tools, a garbage can, and a flushing outhouse with a handwash station. There are also two showerhouses located along the main trail, which feature several single-occupancy stalls with showers, bathrooms, and sinks.

If you require any tools, please visit the tool shed near the campfire bowl after lunch or speak with your commissioner.

Housing

Your scouts and leaders will sleep in either adirondaks or “minidaks,” depending on the campsite. Adirondaks sleep six on three bunk beds, while “minidaks” (short for “mini adirondak”) sleep two. Both have flaps or doors for privacy, while neither come with sleeping pads. The bunks are about 27”x90”, and are about 18.5” off the ground (bunk beds are higher, of course).

You are also welcome to bring and sleep in your own tents. We also have a few tents we can check out to Troops, with priority to those traveling from far away. If you want to use a hammock, we ask that you use a hammock stand or at least 1” tree straps around trees of at least 6” in diameter. Never use rope, attach your hammock to a manmade structure, or “stack” hammocks.

Some campsites have an A-frame canvas tent or a minidak with only one bunk. These can be great for your adult leaders or for storing gear.

Medication Storage

Each campsite also has at least one med lock-box for securing medications. You will receive a padlock and combo for this medication box when you check in. We ask that you store all medications - including those for adult leaders - in this box. In the event of an emergency, this facilitates a speedy evacuation. Refrigerated medicines may be stored in the Health Lodge refrigerator.

Firewood

Firewood bundles are available for purchase from the wood shack on the honor system for a nominal cost. The wood shack is located near the campfire bowl.
