There’s a LOT to do at Camp Meriwether! This is the go-to place to learn about the adventures, merit badges, and activities that awaits your Troop this summer. As a camp we believe that the most important part of a Scout’s week should be to have fun. That principle guides our program every day. Scouts may enjoy a wide range of open-program activities, work on completing merit badge requirements or rank advancement, or enjoy free time with their friends; the scouts are free to choose.
Goals and Expectations
Camp Meriwether’s goal as a Scouts BSA summer camp is to provide program, resources, and support for Troops in using the Methods of Scouting to deliver on the movement’s Aims.
We want Scouts to leave Camp Meriwether:
- Understanding of the importance of living the Scout Oath and Law in everyday life.
- Looking for ways to give back to their family, unit, and community.
- With a sense of accomplishment from completing what camp has to offer for advancement and merit badges, and
- Energized to continue on their Trail to Eagle.
- Resilient and self-confident when faced with challenges and finding solutions, especially in the outdoors.
- Appreciating the adventure, fun, and beauty of the outdoors, especially in the Pacific Northwest.
We expect Scouts to behave in a way that communicates respect to their peers, staff, and adult leaders in accordance with the expectations of Scouting and the Guide to Safe Scouting.
